INSTRUCTIONS

Sugar cookies are Karen’s specialty. She makes the most delicious cookies that can be decorated in a variety of ways. You need really great wedding cookie cutters and a good decorating kit with different tip styles to create dots, flowers, and lines.

 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Using a mixer (Kitchenaid is our favorite), beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy.

Add flour, baking powder and salt until thoroughly mixed.

Chill for at least one hour.

Roll out cookies and cut them placing them gently on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Cookie dough should not be too thin or too thick.

Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cool cookies and then decorate as you would like and with your favorite icing.
